AC orifice valve in the R-12 system was replaced and system flushed and re filled with R-12, which blows icy cold and works in all functions including automatic.
In 2021, the original tires were replaced even though the old ones showed no wear or rot.
That was piece of mind because I made several trips between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. This is old school “Magic Carpet Ride”. This Gentleman’s automobile has the Lincoln Town Car ride and feel. Floats but handles when asked. You could say it’s more like a 302ci Lounge chair.
History: This vehicle was originally purchased in Akron Ohio. The gentleman had professional undercoating service performed and being that a Grand Marquis came with every option such as all electric windows, seats and power antenna etc. Only thing left was to enjoy the drive in comfort. I like the fact that it is a two door, half padded vinyl top. It’s a beautiful thing. So Grandpa passed away and Grandma found it to big for her to drive but would not part with the reminder of the man she loved. Always kept in the garage, the family serviced, drove and had a tender on the battery. Again, when I got her, the tires did not have any cracks and everything else that may dry up and have issues are non existent. When Grandma passed, the vehicle became available in the estate and I purchased it.
My thoughts, or, what I’ve thought about doing with her. Logic says to leave her original and enjoy a Sunday drive now and then. That’s how she is used now. The little guy on my other shoulder says at least clean out under the hood and put a Coyote in there with a beautiful brushed aluminum appearance and no exposed wires. Reality is that I’m downsizing, want to relocate or RV full time until I’m done here. Therefore I have several things for sale such as a few other cars, extra motor home, boat and a Harley Ultraglide and even a powered parachute from Powrachute.
For the sale: please don’t insult me or low ball. This fine vehicle may not be a high value target for the masses but she is exactly as described and those of us that grew up with real cars know what a rarity she is. Especially a two door. She has versatility for modifications, if thats your thing or just have a great driver and go to the drive in movies with the ol’lady.
Thank you for taking time to get this far if your still reading. Clean title in hand and a cash envelope would get the deal done. I’m in North Texas and available for a serious buyer.
