Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale has jumped at the chance to offer for sale, on consignment, this “you don’t see that every day” 1981 Toyota truck! Sure a freshly restored, 1981 Toyota truck is a rarity these days, but the power plant on this one really, really sets it apart from the rest. Feast your eyes on a 1981 Toyota truck with a carbureted Ford 302 cubic inch V8 stuffed under the hood and mated to a 5 speed manual transmission both with just around 200 miles on them. Hearing a V8 rev out of an old Toyota truck is about as weird as a Japanese sport bike sporting a Harley engine, but just because it can be done, does it mean it should? Our answer to this is a resounding “yes”! Sure the dual electric fans hanging below the bumper will catch your eye but not before the beautiful Peterbuilt Red paint draws you in to the clean lines of this truck. Inside the black bucket seats have a custom touch and are very comfortable. As much of the OEM look and components on the interior were retained including the steering wheel and radio! Additional features include aluminum aftermarket wheels, AM/FM radio, power brakes and power steering. The truck is currently sitting as a 2wd configuration however everything but the front drive shaft is there to make it 4wd. This truck is far, far more done than not but it could use a few odds and ends to be 100%. Surely a solid platform and solid built to either improve upon or just enjoy. Call our sales staff to get the details on this beast and how to go about making an offer to purchase!
