Mechanics
The original 4.2 Inline 6 is still under the hood and looks just as it did and still is factory stock. It is backed by the original 4 speed manual transmission and of course has 4WD for your off-roading needs.
It still has the factory stock exhaust manifolds, black air cleaner assembly, intake and carb, and looks like all other factory parts like the power steering and brakes, hoses, and belts.
The longer wheelbase enhances the Scrambler’s stability over off-road rough stuff and helps it handle a bit more predictably and our Scrambler is equipped with the Dana 300 transfer case and locking hubs.
Interior
The interior looks fresh with its black high-back bucket seats with console and has matching door panels, black dash with all the factory gauges, switches, and controls, manual floor shifter, air conditioning, black padded steering wheel, and black carpet.
Exterior
Our Scrambler has a laser straight black painted body with the factory blue Scrambler graphics and side stripes running the length of the body, fiberglass fender flares on all corners, Warn bumpers, winch, and PIAA fog lights.
It has the removeable hardtop in its five-foot bed along with the black factory roll bar, and rides on black custom aftermarket wheels and all terrain tires.
Conclusion
This 1981 Jeep Scrambler we have here at Skyway Classics is ready to roll to the beach, local car shows or use it as your daily driver. These Scramblers are a lot rarer than a CJ7, and like them, they are going up in value and always will have.
