This 1972 International Scout II is a really cool rig!!! It spent its life in Montana and the body was left original and it looks really cool with the original paint and the patina and character on the body. This is a really nicely done and selectively restored Scout with the interior being restored, anew drivetrain, and the body kept original. The underside was cleaned and detailed but left original so yiou can see it is a clean original body and underside. The body on this Scout is original and clean. It has some bumps and bruises (character) but is original. Most original Scouts are plagued with rust…this one is not. All of the body panels are original and most of the paint is original with only some minor touch ups. It is a great color: International Gold Iridescent. All of the stainless and trim is intact and in nice condition. The underside is clean and we found no rust issues (it still has the original floors). The underside was all cleaned and painted.
The interior is really nice!!! It has newly recovered seats, new rubber floor mat with Dynamat installed underneath, and new headliner with Dynamat for soundproofing. The dash, dash pad, and door panels are all original and nice. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are working. The gauges, heater, wipers are working but the horn is inop. This is an AC Scout and a lot of the AC parts are there but the AC is not working. This Scout has new weatherstripping and the factory Roll Bar. The rear hatch close hard beacuse of the new weatherstripping but that will get easier with time.
Mechanically this Scout is as good as it gets. It has a freshly rebuilt 392 V8 with around 1,000 miles on it. We did not get the receipt but it has the rebuild tag and it runs perfect with no issues. They added a new Holley 4 Barrel Carb, dual exhaust, all new plugs and wires, new cap and rotor, new aluminum radiator, and the list goes on. The engine runs really strong. The transmission is the 727 Automatic that shifts nice and it was also rebuilt when the engine was done. It shifts smooth and is mated to the Dana 20 Transfer Case. The 4WD works like it should. It has a Dana 44 Rear Axle with 3.73 Gears and Limited Slip Rear End. The front axle is a Dana 30 with 3.73 gears. They also added a new 4 Inch Spring Lift with new Rancho Shocks. This is all sitting on new Wagon Style Wheels with new Mud Terrain Tires. Awesome Scout!!!
