Genuine Oldsmobile 1971 442 Convertible – Only 1,304 produced. This particular 442 is equipped with factory air conditioning, power disc brakes in the front, a fully functioning air induction hood and a killer sound system (XM & Bluetooth capable).
The current owner of this convertible purchased the car at the end of 2007, it had been in storage for approximately 10 years at that time. The owner sent it straight to a restoration shop to have the vehicle refreshed and made ready to enjoy. The car was already in really good condition, but after being stored for so long it needed the mechanicals and electrical components gone through. The engine was rebuilt, the transmission was resealed, the A/C system was refurbished and works great, exhaust was replaced (the car has a mean rumble) and much more (receipts are available upon request).
While it was at the restoration shop the owner decided to add a rear spoiler and an exceptional sounds system (totaling $5,000 for the sound system and stereo alone) as well as refurbish much of the interior, including the convertible top. The seats do appear to be original and are in great condition!
The electric windows, all lights, gauges and the clock are working. The original FM radio even lights up when turned on! Aftermarket stereo is concealed in the glove box.
In 2010 the radiator was upgraded to a high quality Be Cool Complete Crossflow Radiator with built-in electric fans.
The W30 inner fenderwells were on the car when the owner purchased it, it is unknown when they were added. The car has also been repainted at some point in its life, though it is believed that the underside of the trunk lid is the original paint of the car.
This is a very sharp looking, clean and solid car, one that a collector would be happy to own and drive! The original owner’s manual, Protect-o-plate, original radiator and all restoration/upgrade receipts come with the purchase of the car.
