There were very few built and each came with a 450-horsepower 427 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. Yenko called the SC427 Nova “barely legal at best” and “the wildest thing we ever did.”
How wild, exactly? Chevy refused to build a car to this spec through the COPO program, and COPO built some hairy rides. But, we have a frame-off restored replica 1971 Yenko Nova have at Skyway Classics that is just like the originals, only maybe more potent!

Mechanical Specs
The heart of any Yenko was always the big block Chevy engine, and this one has it in spades as it is a very built 502 cubic inch engine with 502 horsepower.
The engine really looks mean too with the chrome open element air cleaner, black Chevrolet logo valve covers, aluminum heads, hi-rise performance intake, and performance Demon four-barrel carburetor, modified ignition system and spark plug wires, long tube headers, on, performance fuel delivery system, and dual exhaust.
The engine compartment is painted shiny black and our Nova has all the power going into the modified Chevy Turbo 400 automatic transmission, B&M Ratchet Shiftier with Reverse Lock Out, 2500 stall convertor, and 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears.
The ride is fast and safe too with the Wildwood 4-wheel disc brakes, 5-spoke racing mag wheels with black sidewall performance tires and very few miles since the restoration.
Interior
The redone tan interior looks like new and has twin vinyl bucket seats with the SYC logos in the headrests and matching rear bench seat, door panels, headliner and carpeting, factory gauge panel and performance gauges, an SS Steering Wheel, and a black 6-point roll cage.
Exterior
The 1971 Nova body is painted in a stunning Polo Green Exterior with the Yenko badges and stripes on its original body panels and is a sight to be seen.
Take a close look at the chrome, trim, hood vents, blacked-out grille and rear panel, and you will see the degree of detail put into this Yenko Nova Tribute.
