1966 Chevrolet Impala Hardtop. Original rebuilt L30 327 engine Overdrive automatic transmission, column shifter Power steering, power front disc brakes Factory ice cold air conditioning Iconic old school Chrome SS Cragar wheel Posi rear end with 3:42 gears Solid Texas built, paperwork since 1970, was in oklahoma, protecto-plate 1966 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop. It was a dramatic change in 1965 for the entire Chevrolet lineup. The previous boxier body style was abandoned for the sleeker fastback look to move forward into the next, more hip, generation of the American automobile. The long lines gave it a lower leaner look while still keeping enough room inside for the passengers. These styling cues carried into 1966 with subtle refinements. The engine is the original rebuilt 327 Code HCR but now decked, with a Weiand high rise aluminum intake fitted with a Edelbrock 4V carb. Also has aluminum Edelbrock e street heads. 700r automatic overdrive transmission, 10 bolt positraction rear end with 3:42 gears. Power steering, power front disc brakes and working factory air conditioning. Finished in correct Metallic Silver Chateau Slate code W with Tuxedo Black Paint smooth top with with a correct black vinyl bench seat interior with working under dash gauges, tachometer, and am/fm cassette radio, and interior looks fabulous. Enhancing the visual horsepower are the Cragar SS wheels with center caps fitted with 215/70/14 and 275/60/15 black wall radials. The paint is very nice and the chrome and stainless are very nice original and some pieces new and has optional dual chrome outside mirrors. There is an overdrive with posi rear end it goes down the road with little effort and will give the next lucky owner years of cruising pleasure. Obviously there is a nicely detailed engine bay and trunk including car cover, mat. Full Dual exhaust that sound awesome. Book of receipts also. When it comes to rare big body Chevys this has to be one of few and in a stunning color/options combination. This is a great cruiser, don’t let it slip away.
