29,910 actual miles! 1 family owned, bought new at Mancuso Chevrolet in Skokie IL. It has original order form, deposit receipt, full payment receipt, tax form, bill of sale, cashier check copy, dealer’s envelope, warranty booklet filled out with owner’s and dealer’s info and owner’s manual. It went from the original owner to his daughter in the 70s. When she passed it went to her niece.
In 2003 the the car was serviced. Engine and trans were rebuilt and it was repainted for the first time. Only 700 miles have been put on since.

EXTERIOR: The body is mint. Straight, no rust or damage. The doors click shut with no effort at all. The body lines are excellent. Repainted only once on the exterior only, jambs are still original. Original Ember red color. All the original chrome has light petina but overall straight and shiny. The stainless moldings are still very straight and shiny. It still has original bow tie mirror, original antenna and the optional bumper guards up front. It has all four original T-3 headlights. The original windshield helps verify the low miles. All the glass is clear, the window frames are excellent. The door jambs still have the original paint and original weather strips. Original deluxe hubcaps on BFG tires.

INTERIOR: I am sitting in a time capsule. This all original interior is still in really great condition. Of course there’s gonna be some gentle age but there is no abuse. The dash area still looks new. The lenses, trim, heater control panel, knobs, original radio and steering wheel are all mint. Glove box light works. The cloth/vinyl upholstery is in excellent condition, the back seat does not look like it’s been sat in! The door panels are mint. The white headliner and visors have embossed stars and is mint. The carpet is in good condition and has real cool clear mats with glitter in it. They went to Sears way back when and had red seatbelts installed.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original 283 engine was rebuilt and runs smooth. The carb was overhauled. The washer pump and radiator were replaced. This work was done 700 miles ago, we have receipts. Very desirable power steering and power brake options. It is completely stock- valve covers, air cleaner, manifolds etc. It still has the the washer fluid glass bottle, spark plug shields and spring clamp battery cables. The horns and squirters are hooked up. The metal surfaces are smooth and clean.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Original rust free metal. It’s been freshened up with a light coat of spatter paint. The red paint is original. It has an original tire for a spare and a black painted rim. Complete jack assembly. It has the original 3 piece trunk mats. Trunk light works. Weatherstrip is soft. It includes car cover and the original carburetor.

UNDERSIDE: The swaybar end links, rear springs and all 4 shocks were replaced. Brake hoses and wheel cylinders were replaced. Original type single exhaust system. Bottom of the motor is clean, has correct canister type oil filter. Rebuilt original Powerglide automatic. Original rear end, fluid was changed. The floors still have original undercoat and appear to be solid original. Even the lower inner quarters are clean.

It’s not too often a survivor Impala pops up, especially a red one with V8, automatic, power steering and brakes. This is a rare opportunity.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car’s condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
