Background on this car:
Built in 1957 at the Oakland, California Chevrolet plant, purchased by an individual in February, 1957 at Ingold-Olsen Chevrolet in San Francisco, CA. Until 1977 the car spent it’s life within 25 miles of where it was built.
Original configuration: Bel Air, 2 Door hard top, 283 cubic inch V8, factory air conditioning, automatic transmission, power steering, radio and heater. Car was purchased from original owner in 1963 from a young man who worked at Ray’s Texaco in San Mateo, CA. He worked at the station and serviced it for the original owner. In 1965 he left it with his mother as he was drafted to war in Vietnam. His mom drove until 1970 and it sat in their garage until 1977. The young man eventually retrieved the vehicle and landed in Tamarac, In 2008 he did a frame off restoration on the vehicle and as you can see they did an incredible job.
My father bought the car in 2021 after seeing the car was a replica of a 57 he had when he married my mother over 60 years ago. Unfortunately my father never got to enjoy the car as he was diagnosed shortly after buying it with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and died in March of this year. I’m hoping someone will see this car and fall in love with it just like my pops did.
